Oil, Oil Everywhere

Most of us are aware of the fact that we are addicted to fossilized black goo. A few of us realize that there is good reason for it to be locked away, deep within the Earth. Oddly enough, if you didn’t need a reason to cut back on consumption of petroleum-intensive activities and products, now is your chance to see first hand what the costs of business as usual truly are.

Today, the consensus has become one dollar, one vote. Ironically, as the oil companies get bigger and bigger, their “isolated incidents” are more and more common. Fines have not worked in coal mines, oil platforms, on the highways or in factories. What is needed is a culture that will not stand for degrading our resources. Any of them.

Gifts from Creator need to be honored and respected, not befouled. The wisdom of the admonition, “Your freedom ends where the other person’s nose begins.” would help us to understand the heinous ways that we must face down now. My Earth, My Air, My Fire, My Water & My Spirit need not be tainted for another’s benefit.
