Found: 40 acre Parcel, Needs Reforestation. You Can Help!

ECO-Tours of Wisconsin has found a forty acre parcel that is in need of reforestation. It will be developed with the goal of sustainable production, hosting our educational tours near Lake Superior and providing a living example of the abundance that surrounds us. Friends and families that have already experienced ECO-Tours are invited to enlist friends and more distant relatives to this cause. We have alredy begun the process of reforestation on over 200 acres, but this will be the first parcel that we have complete control over. Rather than planting on every one else’s properties, this will allow us to own the very property that we are restoring. The procurement of this acreage is a dream come true for our founders because it allows greater freedom, long term benefits and security from misuse by land owners or managers who may decide to cut the verey trees we have planted.

Part of the reason that this parcel is affordable for us is because it has been impacted severely. Without remediation, it will continue to cause a substantial erosion threat to the local streams that it feeds. We have asked for our supporters to donate before, but this may be the most important request we have shared with all of our readers. consider for a moment, each acre of a mature forest provides a home for about 300 mature trees.  Our organizeation has been planting about 10,000 trees per year spread over a vast area. It makes a very slight change over hundreds of acres. Noticeble, but mostly to a trained eye. Because there is a much more limited area here, our 10,000 young shoots will have a much more noticeable impact on such a limited area.

To donate, you can securely give through Paypal at our account, tnsaladino42@hotmail.com. There is no limit to our goodwill, respect for Mother Earth, commitment to the goals of restoration and sustainability education or our energy when it comes to planting native trees. Where we lack is with funds. All of our donations go to purchasing native seedlings and their care. All of our staff work as volunteers. Not a single penny goes to pay salary. This is a labor of love if ever there was one. Anyone who has come on one of our plant-ins knows how fun, relaxing and informative they can be.

We invite everyone to visit learn a little, love a little and laugh a lot. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our surroundings with us in a helpful way. It has been said that every tree we see that has been planted is a testament to hope. we here at ECO-Tours of Wisconsin live that hope every day. If you prefer to use snail mail, send checks to: ECO-Tours of Wisconsin Inc. 1445 Porlier Street Green Bay, WI 54301 USA. Let us know when you plan on being in Wisconsin and whether you are interested in a half-day, whole day, or overnight stay with us.

We encourage people to donate whatever they can afford, but we offer some super discounts for those experiencing hardship, let us know in advance and we will work something out. Recommended memberships, which support our efforts year-round are Family, $54 Annually   Single, $36 Annually    Student 18-25 $18/yr.     Youth <18  $8/yr.

Family, Lifetime $750   Single, Lifetime $500

Family, Benefactor $2,500   Single, Benefactor $1,000

A rough estimation of how many trees your donations will help plant can be made by figuring that with planning, planting, care, protection, and watering, it costs us an average of about ten dollars per tree. We look forward to continuing this important work, bless ings go out to you in advance for whatever help you can send.
